Chinese Calendar
The Chinese Calendar, also known as the Lunar Calendar, is a lunisolar system that combines both the moon's phases and the sun's positions. It consists of 12 months, with each month beginning on the new moon, resulting in a year that is about 354 days long. To align with the solar year, a 13th month is periodically added, creating a leap year every few years. This calendar is vital for traditional festivals, agriculture, and astrology. The Chinese zodiac, which assigns an animal to each year in a 12-year cycle, is also based on this calendar.
