Charlottetown Accord

The Charlottetown Accord was a 1992 agreement proposed in Canada to address constitutional issues and improve the relationship between federal and provincial governments. It aimed to give Quebec more autonomy, recognize Quebec as a "distinct society," and enhance the powers of provinces. The Accord also included provisions for Indigenous rights and changes to the Senate. However, it was rejected in a national referendum, with many Canadians feeling it did not adequately address their concerns or the needs of the country. As a result, the Accord was ultimately not implemented.
