Chanakya (Philosopher)
Chanakya, also known as Kautilya or Vishnugupta, was an ancient Indian philosopher, economist, and political strategist, active around the 4th century BCE. He is best known for his work "Arthashastra," a treatise on statecraft, agriculture, military strategy, and economics. Chanakya played a crucial role in the establishment of the Maurya Empire by serving as an advisor to its first emperor, Chandragupta Maurya. His teachings emphasize pragmatism, realpolitik, and the importance of knowledge and intelligence in governance. Chanakya's insights on leadership and ethics continue to influence modern political thought and strategy.
