
Chaco Canyon
Chaco Canyon is an archaeological site in northwestern New Mexico, known for its monumental ancient Puebloan structures built between AD 900 and 1150. It served as a major cultural and political center for the Ancestral Puebloans, featuring intricate architecture, including large multi-story buildings and ceremonial sites called kivas. Chaco was also a hub for trade and astronomical observation, reflecting advanced social organization and engineering skills.
