Cetshwayo kaMpande
Cetshwayo kaMpande was the king of the Zulu Kingdom from 1873 to 1884, known for his leadership during the Anglo-Zulu War in 1879. He aimed to protect Zulu sovereignty against British expansion in South Africa. Cetshwayo is best remembered for leading his forces to a significant victory at the Battle of Isandlwana, which shocked the British. However, the war ultimately led to his defeat and exile. After returning to power, he worked to restore his kingdom but faced ongoing challenges from colonial forces. Cetshwayo remains a symbol of resistance and Zulu pride in South African history.
