Canadian Government

The Canadian government is a parliamentary democracy and constitutional monarchy. This means it has a system where elected representatives make laws, and the monarch (currently the King) is the ceremonial head of state. Canada has three levels of government: federal (national), provincial/territorial (regional), and municipal (local). The federal government, based in Ottawa, manages national affairs, including defense and immigration. Each province or territory has its own government to handle local issues like education and health. The House of Commons, where MPs are elected, plays a key role in law-making, while the Senate reviews proposed legislation.
