Café au lait spots
Café au lait spots are flat, light brown skin markings that resemble coffee with milk, hence the name. They can vary in size and usually appear during childhood. While they are generally harmless, having several or very large spots may indicate certain genetic conditions, like neurofibromatosis. These spots are the result of an increase in pigment-producing cells in the skin. They typically do not require treatment unless there are concerns regarding underlying health issues, but it's a good idea to consult a healthcare provider for further evaluation if you notice them.
