McCune-Albright Syndrome
McCune-Albright Syndrome is a genetic disorder caused by a mutation that affects the bones, skin, and hormonal systems. It is characterized by three main features: irregular, often early bone growth leading to deformities; skin spots that are brownish in color and usually have jagged edges; and hormonal problems, such as early puberty. These symptoms result from the mutation occurring in early development, affecting tissue growth. While there is no cure, treatment focuses on managing symptoms and complications, helping individuals lead healthier lives. The disorder is rare and occurs randomly, not inherited.
