Brittle bone disease

Brittle bone disease, also known as osteogenesis imperfecta (OI), is a genetic disorder that causes fragile bones that break easily, often with little or no apparent cause. This condition results from defects in collagen, a protein that provides structure to bones. Individuals with OI may experience frequent fractures, and the severity of the disease can vary from mild to severe. Other symptoms may include blue sclera (the white part of the eye), dental issues, and in some cases, hearing loss. Treatment focuses on managing symptoms, preventing fractures, and improving quality of life through physical therapy and medication.
