BJ Fogg

BJ Fogg is a behavioral scientist who developed the Fogg Behavior Model, which explains how habits and actions are formed. According to his model, for a behavior to occur, three elements must be present simultaneously: motivation, ability, and a prompt or trigger. If any are missing, the behavior is unlikely to happen. This understanding helps individuals and organizations design environments, instructions, or interventions that make desired behaviors easier to adopt by increasing motivation, simplifying the steps involved, or providing effective cues. Fogg’s work is widely used in technology design, health behavior change, and productivity strategies.
