Bernadotte dynasty
The Bernadotte dynasty is the royal family of Sweden, which began in 1818. It was founded by Jean Baptiste Bernadotte, a Marshall of France and a general under Napoleon Bonaparte, who was unexpectedly elected as the Crown Prince of Sweden. He took the name Charles John and later became King Charles XIV John of Sweden. The dynasty has played a significant role in Swedish history, fostering a peaceful and democratic nation. Today, the Bernadottes continue to represent Sweden, promoting various charitable causes and cultural events while maintaining the country’s proud royal traditions.
