Caroline of Nassau was a queen consort of Great Britain, born in 1768 and part of the House of Nassau. She married King George IV in 1795. Their marriage was famously troubled, marked by George's infidelity and their estrangement. Following her husband's accession to the throne in 1820, Caroline sought recognition as queen but faced opposition, leading to a public scandal. The "Caroline Affair" became a significant political and social issue in Britain, reflecting broader tensions in society. Caroline died in 1821, and despite her tumultuous life, she remains a notable figure in British royal history.
