Bantu Education Act

The Bantu Education Act, enacted in South Africa in 1953, was a law that established a separate and inferior education system for Black South Africans. It aimed to control and limit the education of Black people, ensuring they remained in low-paying jobs and reinforcing racial segregation. This act was part of the broader apartheid system, which enforced racial discrimination and inequality. Under this act, schools for Black students received significantly less funding and resources than those for White students, ultimately perpetuating social and economic disparities.
