Balti people

The Balti people are an ethnic group primarily found in the Baltistan region of northern Pakistan. They are culturally and linguistically linked to Tibet, speaking the Balti language, which is a Tibetic language. Originally, they practiced Buddhism, but most Balti today are Muslim, particularly of the Shia sect. The Balti culture is rich in traditions, including unique music, dance, and cuisine, reflecting their adaptation to the high-altitude environment of the Himalayas.
