Australian and New Zealand Army Corps

The Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) was a military formation created during World War I, comprising soldiers from Australia and New Zealand. Formed in 1915, the ANZAC is best known for its involvement in the Gallipoli Campaign, where troops landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey. The campaign aimed to secure a sea route to Russia but ended in heavy casualties and withdrawal. ANZAC has since become a symbol of bravery and mateship, commemorated annually on ANZAC Day, April 25, honoring those who served and sacrificed in military conflicts.
