Associationist theories

Associationist theories suggest that our general knowledge is built through connections between ideas, experiences, and sensations. When we learn something new, our mind links it to what we already know, forming a network of related concepts. For instance, learning about a cat may connect to previous experiences with pets or stories about animals. These mental associations help us retrieve information and understand the world. Essentially, our knowledge grows as we make connections between different pieces of information, rather than as isolated facts.
