Artaud's Theatre
Antonin Artaud’s concept of theatre, known as the "Theatre of Cruelty," seeks to provoke deep emotional responses from the audience through intense and often surreal performances. He believed traditional theatre focused too much on text and rationality, neglecting the visceral and primal aspects of human experience. Artaud aimed to strip away social norms and confront spectators with raw, powerful imagery and sound, emphasizing the body’s physicality and the subconscious. His ideas sought to create a transformative experience, challenging viewers to engage with their own emotions and the depths of existence.
