Arid Regions

Arid regions are areas with very low rainfall, typically receiving less than 10 inches (25 cm) of precipitation annually. These regions often have extreme temperatures, with hot days and cool nights. Common characteristics include limited vegetation, such as cacti and drought-resistant plants, and sandy or rocky soils. Arid areas, like deserts, are often challenging for agriculture and habitation due to water scarcity. Human activities, such as overgrazing and deforestation, can exacerbate desertification, making the environment even drier. Understanding these regions is crucial for effective land management and conservation efforts.
