
Anuradhapura Kingdom
The Anuradhapura Kingdom was one of the first and oldest kingdoms in Sri Lanka, founded around the 4th century BCE. It served as the capital for over a millennium, thriving until about the 10th century CE. The kingdom is notable for its advanced civilization, including impressive architecture, extensive irrigation systems, and a strong Buddhist culture.
