Angevin Empire

The Angevin Empire refers to a medieval realm that existed in the late 12th and early 13th centuries, primarily ruled by the Plantagenet dynasty. It was named after the region of Anjou in France, from which the dynasty originated. At its height, the empire included England, large parts of France, and territories in Wales and Ireland. It was notable for its complex political relationships, conflicts, and the struggle for power between the English crown and the French monarchy. The empire began to fragment after the death of King John in 1216, leading to significant changes in European politics.
