Angelina Grimké

Angelina Grimké (1805–1879) was a prominent American abolitionist and women's rights advocate from South Carolina. Born into a wealthy slave-owning family, she became a fervent critic of slavery and the injustices faced by women. Along with her sister Sarah, she was one of the first white women to speak publicly against slavery, arguing that it was a moral wrong. Grimké's writings and speeches emphasized the interconnectedness of the struggles for racial and gender equality, helping to inspire future generations in the fight for civil rights. Her bold activism challenged societal norms and contributed significantly to both movements.
