Amblyopia (Lazy Eye)

Amblyopia, commonly known as "lazy eye," is a vision development disorder where one eye fails to achieve normal visual acuity, even with corrective lenses. It often occurs when the brain favors one eye over the other, leading to poor vision in the weaker eye. This can result from strabismus (crossed eyes), unequal refractive errors, or other visual impairments. Early detection and treatment, which may involve glasses, eye patches, or vision therapy, are crucial for improving vision in the affected eye. If left untreated, amblyopia can lead to permanent vision problems.
