Alexander the Great was a king of the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon and is one of history's most famous military leaders. Born in 356 BC, he became king at age 20 after his father was assassinated. Over the next decade, he created one of the largest empires of the ancient world, stretching from Greece to Egypt and into parts of India. Known for his military genius and tactics, he never lost a battle. Alexander spread Greek culture and influence throughout his conquests. He died in 323 BC at just 32, leaving a lasting legacy that shaped the course of history.
