Adil Shahi

The Adil Shahi dynasty was a medieval Muslim ruling dynasty that governed the Deccan region of India from the late 15th century until the 17th century. Founded by Yusuf Adil Shah, it was one of the five Deccan Sultanates and was known for its contributions to art, architecture, and culture, including the establishment of beautiful structures like the Gol Gumbaz in Bijapur. The dynasty was marked by political intrigues, conflicts with neighboring states, and engagement with the Mughal Empire. The Adil Shahis left a lasting legacy in the region before their eventual decline and absorption by larger powers.
