Acalabrutinib

Acalabrutinib is a medication used to treat certain types of blood cancers, such as chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL). It belongs to a class of drugs called Bruton's tyrosine kinase inhibitors, which work by blocking a specific enzyme that cancer cells need to grow and survive. By inhibiting this enzyme, acalabrutinib helps slow down the progression of the disease and can improve patient outcomes. It is typically prescribed when other treatments have not been effective or suitable. Patients take it as a pill, often with fewer side effects than traditional chemotherapy.
