Abdul Ghaffar Khan, also known as Bacha Khan, was an Indian independence activist and leader born in 1890 in what is now Pakistan. A close ally of Mahatma Gandhi, he advocated for nonviolent resistance against British rule. He championed social reform, particularly for the Pashtun people, focusing on education, women's rights, and community development. He founded the Khilafat Movement and the Khilafat Conference, promoting unity among Indians. His philosophy of nonviolence earned him the title "Frontier Gandhi." Ghaffar Khan's legacy is celebrated for his dedication to peace, justice, and the upliftment of marginalized communities.
