Zealots
Zealots were a Jewish political and religious group in the first century CE, known for their fierce opposition to Roman rule in Judea. They believed that Jewish independence was essential and often engaged in rebellion against the Romans. The most notable uprising was the Great Jewish Revolt (66-73 CE), where they fought for freedom. The term "zealot" has since evolved to describe individuals who are passionately devoted to a cause, sometimes to the point of extremism. In essence, zealots embody intense commitment and activism, often in the face of perceived injustice or oppression.
