Simon the Zealot
Simon the Zealot was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ, mentioned in the New Testament. He is often referred to as "the Zealot," indicating he may have been a member of a radical group that sought to overthrow Roman rule in Judea. Little is known about his life beyond the biblical accounts, where he is highlighted for his dedication to Jesus and his teachings. After the Crucifixion, tradition holds that he preached in various regions, and he is often associated with missionary work. He is commemorated in some Christian traditions as a martyr.
