Wu Kingdom
The Wu Kingdom, known as one of the Three Kingdoms of ancient China, existed from 220 to 280 AD. It was established in the southeastern region around the Yangtze River and was led by Sun Quan. Wu was known for its strong navy and economic prosperity, primarily due to fertile lands and trade routes. The kingdom played a crucial role in the power struggles following the fall of the Han Dynasty, engaging in notable conflicts against the rival states of Wei and Shu. The era is celebrated in literature, particularly in the historical novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms."
