Western Bloc

The Western Bloc refers to a group of countries mainly in Western Europe, North America, and allies during the Cold War, aligned with the United States. They opposed the Eastern Bloc, led by the Soviet Union, which included Eastern European countries. The Western Bloc promoted democracy, capitalism, and free markets, and was part of NATO, a military alliance formed to provide collective security against potential Soviet aggression.
