West Francia

West Francia was a historical region that emerged in the late 9th century as part of the Carolingian Empire's division. It occupied roughly the western part of modern-day France. Following the Treaty of Verdun in 843, West Francia became a separate entity, ruled by its own kings. This region is significant as it laid the foundation for the modern French state. Over time, it evolved through feudalism, territorial conflicts, and dynastic changes, influencing the development of French culture, language, and governance. West Francia eventually led to the establishment of the Kingdom of France in the 10th century.
