War of the Three Henrys
The War of the Three Henrys (1587–1589) was a pivotal conflict during France’s French Wars of Religion, involving three main leaders: King Henry III, Henry of Navarre (later Henry IV), and Henry, Duke of Guise. Tensions arose over religious differences (Catholic vs. Protestant) and political power. The war was marked by shifting alliances and violence. Ultimately, Henry of Navarre, a Protestant, converted to Catholicism to become King Henry IV, ending the conflict and helping stabilize France. The war highlighted the complex interplay of religion and politics during a tumultuous period in French history.
