Wei (Wei Dynasty)
The Wei Dynasty, part of the Three Kingdoms period in ancient China, existed from 220 to 265 AD. It was established by Cao Cao, a powerful warlord who unified northern China. The dynasty is known for its military strength and attempts to consolidate power during a time of fragmentation after the fall of the Han Dynasty. Wei's political, cultural, and military advancements influenced later Chinese history, even as it faced challenges from rival factions, particularly the Shu and Wu kingdoms. The era has been romanticized in literature, notably in the historical novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms."
