Vocal Tract Model

The Vocal Tract Model is a way to understand how humans produce speech sounds. It considers the vocal tract—a tube from the vocal cords to the mouth—that shapes sounds as we speak. By varying the position of the tongue, lips, and other parts, we change the sound's quality, making different vowels and consonants. This model can be represented mathematically or through simulations to help study speech production, improve voice recognition technology, and aid speech therapy. Essentially, it illustrates how our anatomical structures collaborate to create the diverse sounds of spoken language.
