vocal tract

The vocal tract is the system of organs in your mouth and throat that shapes sounds into speech. It includes the lungs, vocal cords, throat (pharynx), mouth, tongue, teeth, and lips. When you speak, air from your lungs passes through the vocal cords, causing them to vibrate and produce sound. These sounds are then modified by the shape and movements of your mouth and tongue to form different speech sounds. The vocal tract acts like a flexible tube that helps produce the wide variety of sounds involved in human language.
