Visual Agnosia
Visual agnosia is a neurological condition where a person can see objects but cannot recognize or interpret them. This impairment occurs despite having intact vision; individuals may have normal eyesight but struggle to identify objects, faces, or even colors. The brain's ability to process and make sense of visual information is disrupted, often due to damage in specific areas. For example, someone with visual agnosia might see a familiar face but not recognize it, or they could view everyday items without understanding their purpose. Treatment often involves therapy to help patients adapt to their condition.
