Virgo Cluster

The Virgo Cluster is a large group of over 1,300 galaxies bound together by gravity, located about 55 million light-years from Earth. It is the closest major galaxy cluster to us and serves as a key region for studying how galaxies interact and evolve in dense environments. The cluster’s core contains bright, massive galaxies, with many smaller ones surrounding them. Its gravitational pull influences the movement of galaxies within it and helps astronomers understand cosmic structure formation and the distribution of dark matter in the universe.
