Villa–Carranza conflict

The Villa–Carranza conflict was a power struggle during the Mexican Revolution in the early 20th century. It mainly involved two key figures: Pancho Villa, a popular revolutionary leader, and Venustiano Carranza, the president of Mexico. After initially fighting against the same oppressive regimes, their alliances fractured over differing visions for Mexico's future. Villa, favoring land reform and social justice, clashed with Carranza, who sought a more centralized government. The conflict led to violent confrontations between their forces, ultimately weakening the revolution and highlighting the complex political landscape of post-revolutionary Mexico.
