Carrancistas
Carrancistas were followers of Venustiano Carranza, a prominent Mexican leader during the Mexican Revolution. They supported Carranza’s political goals, which aimed to establish a constitutional government and restore order after years of social upheaval. The Carrancistas fought against different factions, including those led by Pancho Villa and Emiliano Zapata, who had different visions for Mexico’s future. They played a key role in the eventual drafting of the 1917 Mexican Constitution, which limited power of the military and protected land rights. Essentially, the Carrancistas represented a constitutionalist effort to modernize and stabilize Mexico during a period of conflict.
