Venezuelan War of Independence

The Venezuelan War of Independence (1810–1823) was a struggle where Venezuelans fought to free themselves from Spanish colonial rule. Inspired by Enlightenment ideas and revolutionary movements in the Americas, leaders like Simón Bolívar led efforts to establish a sovereign nation. The conflict involved battles, alliances, and political upheaval, gradually weakening Spanish control. By 1821, Venezuela declared independence, and after several years of fighting and consolidation, it became a free nation in 1823, contributing to the broader Latin American independence movements and ending over three centuries of Spanish dominance.
