Veil of Ignorance Argument

The Veil of Ignorance is a philosophical concept created by John Rawls. It suggests that when designing a fair society, we should imagine doing so without knowing our own personal circumstances—such as our wealth, class, race, or abilities. By placing ourselves behind this "veil," we would create rules and systems that are fair and just for everyone, since we might end up in any situation. This thought experiment encourages impartiality and fairness in decision-making, as it prioritizes the needs of the most disadvantaged, promoting equality and social justice.
