Vassal State
A vassal state is a country that is independently governed but owes allegiance to a more powerful nation. This relationship often includes obligations such as military support or tribute payments. In return, the powerful nation typically offers protection and support. Historically, vassal states have existed in various forms, often seen during feudal times, where lesser lords would serve more powerful kings. Today, similar dynamics can be observed in political and economic relationships between countries, where a weaker state may rely on a stronger ally for security or resources while maintaining some degree of autonomy.
