Vasa

The Vasa is a famous 17th-century warship from Sweden that sank on its maiden voyage in 1628. Designed to showcase Sweden's naval power, it was heavily decorated and armed but was too top-heavy and unstable. The ship capsized in Stockholm harbor shortly after setting sail, resulting in the loss of many lives. In the 1960s, the Vasa was salvaged and is now preserved in the Vasa Museum in Stockholm. It is celebrated for its intricate design and is a significant artifact of maritime history, offering insights into shipbuilding and naval warfare of that era.
