Vasa shipwreck

The Vasa shipwreck is a famous 17th-century Swedish warship that sank on its maiden voyage in 1628, just minutes after setting sail. Designed to demonstrate Sweden’s naval strength, it was heavily armed and ornamented. However, poor planning and design flaws caused it to be top-heavy and unstable, leading to its sinking in Stockholm harbor. The ship remained underwater for over 300 years until it was rediscovered and raised in the 1960s. Today, the Vasa is preserved in a museum in Stockholm, offering insights into maritime history and shipbuilding of that era.
