Ursa Major
Ursa Major, also known as the Great Bear, is a prominent constellation in the northern sky. It contains several bright stars arranged in a pattern called the Big Dipper or the Plow in North America, which is an easily recognizable asterism. Historically, many cultures have seen it as a bear or related mythic figure. Ursa Major is useful for navigation, as it points toward Polaris, the North Star. Comprising dozens of stars, it spans a large area and is visible year-round in most northern latitudes, making it a key feature of the night sky.
