constellation

A constellation is a group of stars that forms a recognizable pattern in the night sky. These patterns have been identified and named by different cultures throughout history, often based on mythology, animals, or objects. While the stars in a constellation may be far apart from each other in space, they appear grouped together from our viewpoint on Earth. There are 88 officially recognized constellations, such as Orion and Ursa Major, which help astronomers and stargazers navigate the sky and understand celestial events.
