Ultraviolet Radiation (UV)

Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is a type of energy emitted by the sun and some artificial sources, such as tanning beds. It lies just beyond the visible light spectrum, making it invisible to the naked eye. UV radiation is divided into three types: UVA, UVB, and UVC. While UVA rays can penetrate deeper into the skin, UVB rays are primarily responsible for sunburn and skin damage. Although we need some UV exposure for vitamin D production, excessive exposure can lead to skin cancer, premature aging, and other health issues. Protection, like sunscreen and clothing, is essential when spending time outdoors.
