Turing test (Alan Turing)

The Turing Test, proposed by mathematician Alan Turing in 1950, is a way to measure a machine's ability to exhibit intelligent behavior equivalent to, or indistinguishable from, that of a human. In this test, a human evaluator communicates with both a machine and a human without knowing which is which. If the evaluator cannot reliably tell the machine from the human based solely on their responses, the machine is considered to have passed the test. This concept raises important questions about artificial intelligence, consciousness, and what it means to think.
