Trajan's Column

Trajan's Column is a monumental marble monument built in Rome around 113 AD to celebrate Emperor Trajan’s victory over the Dacians. It stands about 30 meters tall and features a spiral carved frieze that winds around it, depicting detailed scenes of the military campaign and triumph of Trajan’s army. The artwork provides a visual history of the events, showcasing soldiers, battles, and sieges. Inside, there's a staircase leading to a viewing platform at the top. The column is both a commemorative monument and a remarkable example of Roman artistry and storytelling through sculpture.
