Toyotomi Hideyoshi

Toyotomi Hideyoshi (1537-1598) was a prominent Japanese daimyo and military leader who unified Japan during the late 16th century. Rising from humble beginnings, he served under Oda Nobunaga and eventually took control after Nobunaga's death. Hideyoshi implemented land reforms, promoted agriculture, and established a class system. He is also known for initiating the Catholic missions in Japan and attempting to invade Korea. His legacy includes the construction of the famous Osaka Castle and the consolidation of power that would allow his successors, the Tokugawa shogunate, to rule Japan for over 250 years.
